Our Work close

Disney

Ranked #8 in the world's top brands of all time, Disney needs little introduction. It is a privilege to work for such a creative and life changing business - but also an intense creative challenge. The expectations on delivery are unequalled and we knew, when we were appointed, that we'd have to work hard to rise to the challenge...

Overview

Disney is 'more' than most people think it is. It works across almost all media, and globally, re-enforcing its brands with huge merchandising and product endorsement. It needs individuals to work there who are creative, innovative, passionate and at the top of their game. Advertising and employer branding needs to reflect this intelligence and delivery.

Solution

We decided to up the stakes in terms of the quality of work, potency of 'iconic' imagery and create 'imagination' in the minds of adults. Our work throughout, from small press based advertising, to induction materials and campaigns has used the Disney brand in a thought provoking way. Even the Interns campaign says it all - without the need for a headline.

Result

Every advert has successfully resourced and the legacy of work we have created remains a 'pinup favourite' at Head Office. Our relationship with this unique brand is stronger than ever as we continue to deliver work that positions this icon at the forefront of the entertainment business.

Pets at Home

A retailer that has made the traditional 'pet shop' into a household superstore brand. As a nation we love our pets and no other has made looking after your pet such a comprehensive experience than Pets at Home. We have worked with this brand for many years overseeing innovations like grooming and in-store Vet services...

Overview

It's traditional, sales-orientated retail - but with the significant addition of a highly fun-orientated environment, team-centric and passionate about pets. An employer brand that encapsulates these values and inspires a new generation of managers, team and SSC staff is needed.

Solution

Pets and pet products feature heavily in the employer brand. Beyond this, we find that it's how you approach the candidate, inspire and innovate that makes the difference. Even through to application forms, the employer brand has permeated every aspect of the candidate journey.

Result

Pets at Home won Recruitment Campaign of the Year at the recruiter awards. The employer brand remains one of the most distinctive and individual within retail.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is one of the UK's leading retailers. It's resourcing requirements are enormous. It works in multiple markets and the numbers reflect is outstanding growth and presence. 150,000 employees. 45,000 recruits every year. Multiple online resourcing channels. Clearly, something special is required to ensure that this Supermarket retailer retains number one status...

Overview

After a competitive pitch, Jupiter was awarded the entire account, and challenged with drawing together all work streams into a cost-effective, potent and nationally recognised employer brand. Much of the challenge would be around digital and reflects the desire of this retailer to successfully dominate and innovate within this market.

Solution

Sainsbury's is extremely proud of its 'Values' - which sets it apart from other retailers. We made the connective steps to say that this feeds through to employee proposition of always being 'Valued'. From this branding proposition we have developed careers sites, online SJTs, Onboarding, Talent Management, Graduate resourcing, in-house campaigns and a unique 'BETA' site where we can showcase employer branded innovation.

Result

Two weeks after launch and the website had recorded over four million page views. From the number of unique users, we can estimate that 1 in 100 of the UK population have seen the site, in less than 14 days. The online solutions we are developing, will in-turn save the business £millions. And the innovations we are showcasing for BETA will place Sainsbury's at the forefront of digital resourcing. It's early days, but the results are truly exciting.

wagamama

wagamama has built a unique restaurant brand. Sleek, stylish, minimalist, they have consistently avoided being drawn into the mainstream, even though they have successfully grown their business and broadened their appeal. They came to Jupiter because they wanted to retain their appeal as a non-mainstream employer too - attracting talented individuals that could think and act for themselves.

Overview

wagamama has built a unique restaurant brand.

Solution

We commissioned a photo-shoot of wagamama people who reflected this sense of non-conformity. We combined them with headlines that challenged stereotypes, embraced diversity and which gave wagamama a genuinely distinctive tone of voice. In keeping with the wider wagamama brand, we kept our design minimalist and our photography stark.

Result

The new branding is currently being rolled out across campaigns for front of house, back of house and management staff. Our aim is to rebrand the wagamama candidate experience from attraction to arrival - so we have revamped everything from induction packs to offer letters. It's so successful, we're currently reworking all of their internal communications too.

easyJet

Another favourite brand and a phenomenal success, rising from recent small beginnings to become Europe's number one airline. We've been working with easyJet for a considerable number of years to create and have created a unique suite of materials that ensure its employer brand is as potent as the consumer one. We think we've succeeded...

Overview

The brief has been very clear - to create an employer brand that works on a strategic level to encapsulate not only the fun, and culture of the business - but also the professionalism of the airline. easyJet has a very distinctive culture, an openness, teamwork and fun that makes it a great place to work and this must come across in the brand and delivery.

Solution

The employer brand has kept pace with the many transitions the corporate brand has undertaken - but always remained fun, exciting and inspirational. The website is now on its second evolution and has relied on careful and considered application of research in delivery of the second phase. The advertising has also received significant European exposure and relies on cultural icons to reinforce domination of a location. Finally the new strapline was devised and introduced by our brand team 'up there with the best' which is now applied to all employee materials.

Result

The website has won OnRec European website of the year, and is coded using the very latest techniques to ensure it's mobile enabled. Our advertising still proves to be a highly effective channel to market, and has ensured that every new European base is full resourced ready for takeoff.

Reebok

When we began our relationship with Reebok they were primarily a sportswear - and principally athletics - brand. We've been fortunate to assist this global business in smoothly transferring its business as enlarging its team, as a fashion brand - RBK. As a result we've delivered a series of solutions that have been as unique as they have been creative, sourcing the best to work for this performance wear icon...

Overview

Reebok is a highly innovative brand. Many of the clothing innovations we take as standard have been developed by this sports and fashion manufacturer and retailer. It has a deep-set culture of innovation and trend setting that needs to attract talent from around the globe, to converge at their corporate headquarters in Bolton.

Solution

Initially, as a sportswear brand we wanted the same promise that is made to the Athlete - to be made to the candidate - we bring out the personal best in everyone. This migrated in media and message as the brand shifted towards fashion. The innovative highlight of the campaign was the 'big bag of inspiration' which encourages 'Clubbers' to compile their own 'unusual' CV.

Result

Astounding results for the Bag of Inspiration - which allowed assessment teams to understand much more about fashion influences, music and brand had on an individual, rather than just a CV. All other material has been equally potent, and is an excellent case history in how to manage an employer brand through business transition.

Signet

The world's largest retail jeweller and holding company for three of the UK's leading high street jewellery brands: Ernest Jones, H Samuel and Leslie Davies. This market needs a unique type of candidate. Purchases are 'luxury' goods - not retailing essentials, and so require an eye for fashion, presence, excellent selling skills - as well as a host of very technical and hard to recruit roles such as Horologists...

Overview

An exciting brief, to develop an employer brand that embraces every aspect of the candidate journey and also develop innovations that resource through new channels. The brief also included developing a website and candidate management system - bespoke and best in class that would aid resourcing for all levels of HR.

Solution

The advertising, which drives candidates to the online site has always been aspirational and innovative. We created scenario's where candidates could see themselves 'shining' and developed aspirational work which is also attainable. It's been a fine balance - but a highly successful strategy. Our online solution developed a resourcing tool not only for HR - but in-store and enables the business the evaluate and appoint with ease - a unique solution.

Result

The cost savings have been significant and by developing the structure of the online resourcing to include Store Management, we have enabled the business to become highly proactive, reduce pressure on HR resource and deliver highly talented individuals. Unique branding solutions such a payslip jackets have improved employee referral and reduced agency expenditure.

Alliance Medical

High on the list of priorities was the creation of a new careers website and candidate management system. Developed as a self contained system, the site can process highly technical applications and allows for a unique level of bespoke reporting. The site is supported by a suite of employee information and advertising that develops a core theme about the 'person inside' - obviously making a correlation between patient and professional.

Overview

An exciting brief, to develop an employer brand that embraces every aspect of the candidate journey and also develop innovations that resource through new channels. The brief also included developing a website and candidate management system - bespoke and best in class that would aid resourcing for all levels of HR.

Solution

Two days of concentrated photography delivered enough assets to complete the suite of materials. The website and candidate management system were completed within 12 weeks, and was the first complete careers website for Alliance. The new strapline 'it's what's inside that counts' was developed by our copy teams as a natural identifying marker for a careers brand.

Result

The website has allowed HR to manage responses in a fully automated and professional way. The advertising brand and strapline has been so successful that Marketing has followed suite and 'borrowed' the strapline for its advertising materials. Overall, the new employer brand has been complemented by far reaching medial establishments about its bold use of colour, personality and impact.

House of Fraser

An exclusive and asparational High Street Brand with enormous heritage - House of Fraser is where high fashion meets cutting edge retail. It's a highly competitive sector and something 'special' was needed to make this employer brand as exclusive as the products it sells...

Overview

It was vital to ensure the people aspect of the brand was never overshadowed by the product. House of Fraser needed to be seen as an aspirational place to work - but equally to be accessible. Ownership for the role and talent is a core part of what makes this brand so special.

Solution

We took ownership of the brand to a new level, centred the concept in inclusivity and made the business very, very personal. The 'House of...' campaign was a instant success, as we photographed staff in a studio environment, with full make-up, clothing and the opportunity to keep the shots after the event. Not stock - real people, real input and real staff ownership of the brand.

Result

Highly successful both on-line and in-store. We carried the brand through with a series of innovations - coat hook flyers, point of sale and posters that brought new levels of response from quarters that maybe wouldn't have considered joining. It has been a highly successful employer branding journey and covers every stage of the application process - even down to the URL.

A good year so far

Posted by Rob on March 14, 2013

2013 has been a great year so far for Jupiter. We've been chosen to be wagamama's new recruitment communications partner, having won in a final three-way pitch. We're cock-a-hoop about what's already a valuable piece of business. wagamama is seen as a cool place to eat, and it wants to be seen as a cool place to work. We're working on innovative creative approaches that take the more traditional recruitment platforms out of the mix completely.

wagamama director of marketing Ingrid Williamson said: “Jupiter demonstrated exactly how to use creativity, media and technology to achieve our goals. We're thrilled by their ideas and look forward to getting started.” Our very own agency director Fiona Horton believes that the appointment is further proof that, when it comes to winning new business, nothing makes an agency stand out more than its creative.

She is also very enthusiastic about the new relationship: “wagamama has been voted one of the UK's 'Cool Brands' for the last seven years. They're keen to recruit differently, to work differently and to challenge every type of recruitment convention. It's a real meeting of minds.' As well as all the recruitment communications, the creative team's currently developing all of wagamama's new internal communications ahead of their fantastic new menu launch ! Exciting times… Watch this space!

Sainsbury's stay on board Planet Jupiter

Posted by Rob on April 05, 2013

You may remember that In 2011, Jupiter was awarded a two-year contract by Sainsbury's. Since then, Sainsbury's has seen a strategic re-evaluation of every aspect of their on and offline candidate journey. Sainsbury's currently recruits more than 50,000 people each year and the account covers the recruitment for three Support Centres, more than 1,000 stores and every other division of this diverse retailer: from Pharmacies to Logistics, Graduates to IT.

Jupiter has undertaken a forensic examination of how Sainsbury's engage with candidates. The first step was a re-development of their online capability. Jupiter not only redesigned and redeveloped their careers site but created a clearer, more coherent 'digital roadmap' that ensured all online candidates arrived in the same place. Reinvigorated creative solutions followed for each business area and currently, a staggering one in ten of the UK population is finding their way to sainsburys.jobs

Sainsbury's is so impressed that it had no hesitation in extending the contract for a further two years. "Every day, Jupiter excites us with their ideas and energy. They innovate, they implement and they've developed communications strategies that have helped to future-proof our recruitment. To top it off we won an award at the OnRecs last month which was the icing on the cake. Quite simply we renewed the contract because Jupiter understands where we need to be". Mel Worth, Sainsbury's Head of Resourcing.

Fiona Horton, Agency Director at Jupiter commented "We can't believe how quickly the last two years has passed and we're delighted that Sainsbury's has extended its contract for a further two years. They work with us in true partnership, embrace creativity and challenge us to think differently too. Right now, we're in the middle of some of the most innovative, thought-provoking work we've done to date. We love working with them.'

Jupiter use their 'noodle' for Wagamama campaign!

Posted by Rob on April 19, 2013

Following on from the success of our recruitment communications campaign we recently launched for wagamama, we've now been tasked with designing more of their internal communications. After completing their new menu specs and guidelines, we have written the full corporate brand guidelines for the company's global marketing team. This will be wagamama's brand bible! They currently have restaurants in over 15 countries, so this will be distributed to wagamama's partners, suppliers and other advertising agencies around the world. So it's great exposure for the team here at Jupiter.

Sainsbury's graduates are light years ahead!!

Posted by Rob on April 19, 2013

We are all very excited here on Planet Jupiter about some of the innovative campaigns we're working on. One of those is seeing us collaborate with the famous photographer and light artist, Michael Bosanko (you may remember some of his work from ITV's X Factor).

We're creating a brand new graduate campaign for our friends at Sainsbury's that will see Michael Bosanko create some really unique photography using light art - watch this space for some of the images. In the meantime you might want to take a look at some of Michael's work;

The truth about Employer Branding

Posted by Rob on May 20, 2013

More and more companies are understanding the importance of their employer brand and online candidate experience, but many are still unsure of the best way to implement it.

It's imperative to remember that employer brand and culture go hand in hand, it must embody the true culture of your organisation. Only by promoting the truth within your organisation through your employer brand will it be able to appeal to the right candidates, and therefore allow you to also filter out the wrong ones! The most important thing any HR or Talent leader needs to have is patience.

Another key thing to remember is how important the development of future leaders are in your business. Sometimes the future success of your company is right under your nose! Companies can benefit by creating task forces within the workplace and encourage ideas and thinking that stimulate the creativity in an open environment with people who actively play a part in being ready for the challenges in the changing world ahead, this mixed with a proactive development plan for the individual can ensure stability for the organisation.

Remember that strong employer brands are built on image and reach. It should always work to the advantage of the business, its employees and candidates, dispelling myths quickly and promoting the truth about what it's like to work in that company. Social media will expand networks and develop relationships in order to reach your target audience but never depend on it solely.

Jupiter are 'gunning' for victory!

Posted by Rob on May 20, 2013

The team at Jupiter were recently invited by those giants of football, Arsenal FC to take a look around the grounds and explore this amazing club that is steeped in over 120 years of history, and it certainly lives up to its name! One of our team happens to be the biggest Gunners fan in history (or so he claims!) So you can imagine, he was utterly star struck and running around like a kid in a sweet shop. Not mentioning any names of course, but Stuart from our London office is still recovering from the excitement.

As if that wasn't enough for them, they were then invited to witness the team in action as Arsenal took on FA Cup winners, Wigan Athletic FC, and they weren't disappointed. Arsenal won in tremendous style, beating Wigan 4-1, relegating Wigan from the Premier League in the process.

Thanks to everyone at Arsenal FC for their generosity and kind hospitality.

Here's the latest...

We thought it might be a good idea just to keep you abreast of all the goings on here on Planet Jupiter, and a lot has happened, so here goes:

We've just completed a huge new campaign for Sainsbury's Bank - and we mean HUGE! Our campaign is twice as wide as your standard billboard hoarding, so both visually and creatively it's really exciting for us. The creative team spent two days over in Edinburgh, firstly scouting round for suitable locations then shooting the footage for the campaign. We were fortunate enough to use some of the team from Sainsbury's Bank and photographed them near some of Edinburgh's stunning landmarks. You can imagine photographing outside in Scotland in May was a bit of a gamble, but even the weather was on our side!

The team are adding the final finishing touches to the Pets at Home Dogcam video - all will be revealed soon!

We're also in the final planning stages of a really exciting campaign for one of the world's biggest retailers! Watch this space for more news...

KFC AND JUPITER ARE 'SO GOOD' TOGETHER

Posted by Rob on June 14, 2013

Following on from its continued success with Sainsbury's and many other household names, Jupiter is 'over the moon' to announce it is working in partnership with one of the UK's leading retail food giants in the form of KFC UKI.

KFC UKI is part of Yum! Brands - the world's largest restaurant company. Yum! Brand's rapid expansion globally, places massive strategic importance on established markets, like KFC UKI and its ability to attract and develop high potential individuals to support that expansion. They need to attract and recruit high calibre graduates onto their Operations Leadership Scheme. It's a crucial element of this strategy and Jupiter is delighted to be working with them to ensure their 2013-14 campaign is a huge success.

Jupiter's recent domination of the hospitality and retail markets has seen them partner with some of Europe's leading companies including wagamama, Sainsbury's, Punch Taverns and Pets at Home.

Fiona Horton, Agency Director at Jupiter commented:

"You don't really get a bigger name within the food sector than KFC. So you can imagine how incredibly excited we all are about working with them on this graduate campaign. We've taken a global corporate brand, given it a huge recruitment twist, and will be making quite an impact in the graduate marketplace. The innovation and creative is exceptional and we came in under their budget. So it's a win win for KFC. It's just 'so good' we can't help talking about it!"
